Common Questions and Answers

Q: I am trying to set my moon-phase but the full moon has past, how can I set it accurately?

A: Go to the following link: U.S. Naval Observatory Moon Phase data and find out when the last full moon was and what time it occured. Then, set your watch to that time and date and set your moon-phase disk so that you can see the full moon in the aperture of your watch. This will allow you to set the moon-phase to the precise hour. Then, advance the hands of the watch until you reach the current time and date. Note that this may be very cumbersome to do, therefore you may wish to set your moon-phase relatively accurately then try this process during the next full moon.

Q: I have not worn my watch in a few days and it has wound down, can I wind it through the crown? (For Automatic timepieces.)

A: It is completely safe to do this. It is advisable that you wind the watch from the crown for about 30 turns the first time you wear your watch or after it has been in storage so you may have ample power reserve when wearing your watch.

Q: How many times should I wind my manual wind watch? (For manual-wind timepieces.)

A: Wind your watch at the same time everyday. Preferably in the morning before you wear it so as to ensure sufficient accuracy and power reserve. Wind your timepiece until you feel slight resistance then stop winding as you have reached full wind.
